Second Tour de Fleece Yarn

I have been spinning….a LOT!

I spun a bobbin of merino/silk in the colourway Aquarius. I think merino/silk is one of my most favourite blends to spin – it’s just so effortless.

As I only had 100g of it, I decided I would ply it with something else.

So I spun up the two braids of Shetland from The Thylacine called ‘My Island Home’

This fibre was stunning, it had blues and greens and purples in it and was fun to spin because you got to watch the colour changes.

Ready to Ply

Finally I finished the Shetland (averaging 4 days per 100g) and got ready to ply.

The kids and I sat and watched WWE Money In The Bank (which went on for about four hours) followed by WWE Raw (1hr 25mins) and I was still plying at the end of it!!

I finally finished around midnight last night – I lost a bit at the end; one of the plies ran out before the others, I tried Andean plying the rest of the Shetland with the one ply of merino/silk but I was so tired, I made a mess and gave up.

Besides, the jumbo bobbin on the Joy was full LOL

Then I had to wind it off – I could’ve cried! I hate winding it off, I usually just want to knit it! But I was good, I wound it off and washed it.

300g – 1664m – 1820y

It’s lovely, the colours have blended really well! I think I will make Blight with this!
